Housefull 3 box office collections: Akshay Kumar’s movie earns Rs. 80.10 cr. in India

Housefull 3, the third installment of the Housefull franchise, has taken off to a fantastic start at the box office. The movie, which released on June 3, has emerged as the clear winner and has grossed Rs. 100 crore mark worldwide in mere three days.
In an official statement, Eros International announced the record breaking success of Housefull 3 at the box office. The film has collected over Rs. 100.03 crores (USD 15 million) across the globe in the opening weekend with Rs. 73.02 crores gross (Rs. 53.31 crores Net box Office) in India and Rs. 27.01 crores overseas. The movie has now earned Rs. 80.10 cr. in its first weeek of its release.Housefull 3 has become the highest opening weekend grosser of 2016 beating Shah Rukh Khan starrer Fan which collected Rs. 52.35 cr. followed by Airlift with Rs. 44.30 cr. and Baaghi with Rs. 38.58 cr. during its opening weekend.
The movie, which featured an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Riteish Deshmukh, Lisa Haydon, Nargis Fakhri and Abhishek Bachchan, collected a whopping Rs 15.21 cr. on the first day of its release itself. On the second day also, the movie maintained a strong hold witnessing 7.17% growth towards its collections and minted Rs. 16.30 cr. on Saturday. The movie which saw the return of slapstick humour, seems to have managed to tickle the audience with its funny gags and punchlines. It was released across 3700 screens in India and 670 screens overseas.
Housefull 3 opened to a great start in the international market as well with USD 700000 plus in the US and Canada in 3 days. It collected $ 2 million [₹ 13.36 cr] on Friday and even witnessed a higher growth on Saturday performing better than Airlift.
